CHOICE READY DAY at WHS

Today may have been an early dismissal day, but it was a very full and exciting morning at Williston High School and Williston Basin Career & Technical Education Center! 🎉

All grade levels spent time working in the 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦, a web-based system students return to each year as part of a 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧.

Choice Ready is a statewide measure designed to ensure students graduate prepared for 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞, 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲. Within the platform, students track their progress, explore career and education pathways, build academic and leadership skills, complete service learning components, set goals, and reflect on their growth over time. Completing these indicators helps students understand their strengths and plan their next steps with purpose.

🎓 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬 focused on their “Next Steps,” declaring their plans for after graduation, taking photos, and celebrating the pathways they are beginning to pursue.

📊 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬 received their ASVAB scores, with 𝐒𝐅𝐂 𝐂𝐨𝐛𝐛 of the North Dakota National Guard explaining how to interpret results and use the online system to explore possible college and career opportunities.

📘 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬, students were engaged in Choice Ready activities that support future readiness.

📣 The morning concluded with WHS’s first-ever 🥳 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐞𝐩 𝐑𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, recognizing student achievements and celebrating a major milestone for the school:

⭐ 𝐖𝐇𝐒 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐓𝐒𝐈) 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬.

According to the ND Department of Public Instruction, WHS has met the criteria to exit TSI status. This progress reflects years of focused effort, including 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 along with improved data reporting that now shows a clearer and 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. 🎓📈

The pep rally brought plenty of excitement, with grade-level competitions, student recognitions, a wig-snatching race between staff and students, a table-surfing challenge, and a moment students won’t forget when 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗱 in the face. 🤩

🎉 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐇𝐒 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 for this significant achievement and for creating a school environment where academic success and future readiness are celebrated.
